Terminology for All "Tipped" Styles

This page contains drawings and information to help you design your shoes. There are also photos of a few representative shoes at the bottom of the page. For details about construction features and options, please also refer to the Shoe Features page.

This illustration shows a three-color High-Top Wingtip (with contrasting edging, collar and lace trim). The same terminology applies to any style lace-up shoe that includes a tip (Scallop, Straight-Tip, Reverse Wingtip or Double Wingtip). You can choose any combination of colors you'd like. The white and two shades of grey show where we normally apply your three color choices, but you can specify any combination you'd like. Of course, you can disregard the edging, collar and lace trim, if you choose a standard (one- or two-color) wingtip (or other tipped shoe style as previously mentioned).

This illustration shows a Low-Top Wingtip. Please notice the difference in appearance between the Low-Top and High-Top heels. As with the drawing above, except for the tip style, any style lace-up shoe that includes a tip (Scallop, Straight-Tip, Reverse Wingtip or Double Wingtip) would look like this in a low-top.
